Victim Services Program

The Victim Services Program at UMass Memorial Health is a comprehensive service that provides support and resources to victims of violent crimes and their families. Our team of experienced clinicians and advocates work together to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to heal and recover.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides outpatient diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, couple, and group therapy
  • Provides consultation and educational services to community groups and agencies in a culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate manner
  • Directs clinical psychotherapy services, including the use of evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT and ARC
  • Participates in interdisciplinary diagnostic treatment and planning conferences
  • Consults with area schools, doctors, individuals, and other social service agencies regarding clients, client services, and case management
  • Maintains client records and administrative records according to Center policy
  • Maintains unit productivity standards according to collective bargaining agreement
  • Attends administrative staff meetings and in-service education, clinical supervision, and professional meetings as required
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a clinical course of study in behavioral health (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or related field) that meets the academic requirements for independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Licensure as LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or active pursuit of licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of two years in a clinical setting working with children, adolescents, and families with behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties
  • Ability to work on weekend and evening shifts
  • Minimum of two years working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced and/or been exposed to domestic violence, abuse, and/or violence
  • Working knowledge of domestic violence, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse
  • Proven ability to effectively engage clients, successfully advocate for clients, and work well with other professionals
  • Proven ability to perform assessments
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and ability to contribute to team objectives
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills
  • Ability to use a computer-based information system
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly urged to apply
  • Current valid US-issued driver's license
