Flower Mound Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center ER is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our emergency care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional medical care to pets in need.
Responsibilities- Provide top-notch client communication and education, obtaining thorough medical histories and symptoms.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and implement safety protocols for fellow staff members.
- Nursing skills, including restraining patients, administering medications, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Proficient in dental prophylaxis.
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) is strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant.
- 3+ years of experience working in a veterinary emergency setting.
