We are seeking a highly skilled individual to contribute to the planning and execution of transmission projects essential for maintaining a reliable and efficient transmission system. This role involves applying engineering principles to ensure adherence to industry reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and assess main grid transmission systems and processes to align with company objectives while ensuring compliance with relevant reliability standards.
- Conduct complex engineering analyses and produce comprehensive reports, specifications, and design documents related to transmission planning.
- Serve as a lead expert, providing guidance and mentorship to junior planners and engineers.
- Identify and recommend engineering solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively, ensuring commitments are met.
- Collaborate with neighboring utilities on planning studies for interconnected systems.
- Prepare annual compliance studies as required by industry standards.
- Perform power flow and stability analyses for the main grid.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant experience in transmission system engineering and planning.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations, as well as industry reliability standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficient in engineering software tools for power flow analysis and database management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
