Clinical Nurse II Position

We are seeking a skilled RN Clinical Nurse II to join our Labor and Delivery team at UNC Medical Center. This per diem position offers flexible scheduling with rotating 12-hour shifts, requiring availability to work 1-12 hour shift every 2 weeks, as well as various holidays. No benefits are offered with this per diem position.
About the RoleThe Labor and Delivery Unit is a Level III referral center, providing care to both normal and high-risk laboring and ante partum patients. Our team delivers approximately 3,800 babies each year, with numerous high-risk procedures performed, including vaginal and cerclage placements, amniocentesis, and versions. The unit consists of 15 labor and delivery rooms, 5 triage rooms, a 2-bed recovery room, and 3 operating rooms, with anesthesia coverage provided 24/7.
Responsibilities- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self, attending education programs based on identified learning needs.
- Evaluates patient outcomes, seeks guidance as needed, and participates in discussion with the interdisciplinary team.
- Performs bedside point of care testing, utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, and prioritizes care according to patient needs.
- Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- One (1) year of relevant and current experience required.
