Our clientele extends across the Southwestern United States, with completed projects in various states.

This position involves fieldwork at various job sites primarily located in Arizona, with a focus on the Intel Ocotillo project. Candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes for consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalize bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and apply labor man-hours and productivity metrics to estimates.
  • Source competitive pricing and solicit quotes for specialized equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, providing necessary information and documentation to facilitate their bids.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure completeness of scope and pricing.
  • Assess and select the most qualified and cost-effective subcontractors.
  • Engage with engineers to clarify project scope, material requirements, and scheduling, documenting these discussions.
  • Contribute to proposal development and participate in internal estimate reviews.
  • Assist in the final assembly of estimates, including proposal presentations.

Post-Bid Responsibilities:

  • Organize and archive all bid information for future reference.
  • Prepare summaries of successful bids for hand-off.
  • Explain project scope and cost estimates during presentations.
  • Maintain historical data for reference.
  • Participate in subcontract buy-outs and material purchase orders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating within a construction context.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with McCormick electrical estimating software is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time will be spent in an office environment utilizing computers and standard office equipment, with occasional site visits for bid walks.
