The Department of Justice is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Executive Service (SES) Warden at the United States Penitentiary, Florence, CO. As the SES Warden, you will be responsible for the overall management of a federal prison, ensuring the safekeeping, care, protection, discipline, programming, and release of over 783 high-security inmates.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all administrative functions of the institution, including planning and coordinating programs related to security, discipline, and developmental issues.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure the safety and security of inmates, staff, and the community.
- Collaborate with regional and national stakeholders to achieve common goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and policies, as well as Department of Justice guidelines.
- Must have progressively responsible experience in a correctional environment, demonstrating the ability to perform supervisory or administrative duties.
- Must have successfully completed the 3-week Introduction to Correctional Training Techniques Program at Glynco, Georgia.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and undergo a background security investigation.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally for training and operational purposes.
- MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must have experience in a correctional environment, demonstrating the ability to perform supervisory or administrative duties.
- EDUCATION: This position does not have an education requirement.
