About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Coding Quality Specialist II to join our team at Children's Health. As a key member of our coding team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform medical record coding and documentation reviews for emergency department, radiology, ambulatory surgery, observation, and other outpatient and professional encounters.
  • Conduct coding education based on review findings and act as a coding and documentation resource for coding staff, leadership, and CHST providers.
  • Assist in developing action plans in response to identified coding and documentation issues and provide ongoing training to coders, leadership, providers, and other organizational staff.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of job-related experience.
  • At least 2 years of coding review and coding experience in a hospital setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred; four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist - Professional (CCS-P) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certification required within 180 days.
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) certification preferred.
