Position Description:

The City of Clearwater is seeking a motivated intern to join the Police Department's recruitment team. This role focuses on enhancing the department's online presence through innovative social media strategies aimed at attracting potential candidates for police officer positions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of social media dynamics and will be encouraged to express creativity in crafting compelling content for various platforms, including the department's YouTube channel.

Schedule/Duration: The intern's schedule will be adaptable to accommodate academic commitments, with a recommended workload of 20-30 hours per week. The internship duration can range from a minimum of 5 months to a maximum of one year, depending on the intern's academic requirements and the department's needs.

Compensation: Interns may receive an hourly wage, college credit with a stipend, or work as unpaid volunteers.

Hourly Rate:

- College Student (Freshman or Sophomore): $13.00/hour
- College Student (Junior, Senior, or Technical/Vocational): $14.00/hour
- College Student (Graduate Level): $15.00/hour

College Credit Interns: Eligible for a stipend based on hours worked, with potential weekly earnings of $187.50 to $225.00.

Unpaid Volunteer Interns: Ideal for those nearing the completion of their degree and seeking practical experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate creatively with the recruitment team throughout the content creation process.
- Work alongside department personnel during production phases.
- Develop engaging video content for the department's YouTube channel.
- Craft appealing posts for various social media channels.
- Design social media advertisements to support recruitment efforts.
- Capture photos and videos to create a stock content library.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid State Driver's License Required

Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a college student (undergraduate, graduate, or technical/vocational). Preferred majors include Marketing, Digital Media, or Advertising.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social media management, whether through personal or professional avenues.
