Job Summary

The Plumbing Systems Coordinator will work closely with the Plumbing Shop Manager in coordinating the operation, maintenance, repair, and service of plumbing systems components for all 6.6 million square feet of the Duke University campus. This position reports to the Plumbing Systems Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor EAM and assist maintenance personnel in the field as a technical and practical resource.
Create work orders as needed for customers and technicians.
Conduct quality review of work orders, attach parts if needed, and close completed work orders.
Assist the Plumbing System Manager in managing day-to-day Lock-out and Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, including writing and reviewing procedures, auditing for compliance, and managing the inventory of LOTO tools, parts, and logs.
Document, implement, and execute the Maintenance and Reliability workflow process (i.e., planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and work execution) to provide continuous improvement of maintenance practices.
Assist the Planner/Scheduler in developing and managing an effective Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using Infor's EAM, maintaining appropriate equipment, facility, and maintenance activity records.
Ensure compliance with safe work practices through inspection and review of facility operations policies, procedures, and training, in line with Facilities Management Department objectives and federal/state regulations.
Field review plumbing shop work to ensure it is installed per current codes and standards.
Oversee the permit and inspection process as required for work performed.
Support capital project coordinators for plumbing systems being installed on campus projects, including but not limited to:
Reviewing on-site construction progress.
Participating in project walkthroughs.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and submittals.
Ensuring equipment accessibility for maintenance.
Reviewing exceptions to FMD Plumbing Construction Standards.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Prefer ten (10) years of directly related experience with facility or industrial plumbing systems.
NC Plumbing Class 1 License Required OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, including management, faculty, trade employees, supervisors, staff from other departments, students, and others.
High level of organizational planning, teamwork, and analytical reasoning skills.
Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings, including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, ladder logic diagrams, specifications, and material and equipment submittals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Familiar with Infor EAM or similar Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Familiar with Bluebeam editing software.
