Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team at Clark College. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting of various buildings and facilities.
  • Operate power equipment, such as scrubbers, polishers, and commercial vacuums, to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities.
  • Clean and sanitize shower rooms and restrooms, ensuring they are properly supplied and maintained.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs to custodial equipment, carpets, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Operate a truck mount cleaning machine to vacuum, shampoo, and remove stains from carpets.
  • Maintain custodial closets and mechanical rooms, ensuring they are organized and well-stocked.
  • Fulfill requests for event setups, furniture moves, maintenance requests, and work orders for special services.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform work assignments, including lifting 50 pounds from floor to 36 inches.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of proper use of custodial chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, read and interpret labels, and follow written instructions and diagrams.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors.
  • Ability to work in a smoke-free and drug-free environment.
