Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Civic Engagement Organizer to play a pivotal role in advancing economic empowerment and civic engagement across Boston. This role involves close collaboration with residents to develop impactful campaigns, conduct comprehensive outreach, facilitate leadership development, and coordinate with community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Implementing Goals: Collaborate with the Associate Director of Community Organizing and cross-departmentally to pursue strategic goals that build civic engagement and economic empowerment for Boston residents.
- Community Collaboration: Work closely with residents to develop and execute campaigns, identify issues, and create solutions through democratic processes.
- Outreach and Engagement: Conduct comprehensive outreach efforts, including door-to-door canvassing, community flyering, and event participation to engage businesses, residents, and underrepresented groups.
- Leadership Development: Facilitate leadership development among residents, track progress, and recruit volunteers to support JPNDC events and initiatives.
- Education: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or another language, in addition to English, is required. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Apps, and social media platforms.
- Skills and Experience: Proven ability to implement effective strategies that address economic empowerment and community engagement in low-income communities.
- Collaboration: Experience working within coalitions and multidisciplinary teams, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and navigate complex environments.
- Up to 90% coverage of individual health, vision, and dental insurance premiums.
