Position Summary
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a senior or principal Electrical Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) / FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to join our dynamic teams. This role will involve supporting various projects across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in FAA compliance activities for CFR 14 Part 25 aircraft, contributing as an ODA Engineering Unit Member in the Electrical discipline. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading certification planning and testing analysis to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Providing expert guidance to programs and engineers within the Electrical Design discipline.
  • Mentoring aspiring Engineering Unit members and offering constructive feedback to aid their development.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and methodologies.
  • Traveling to supplier locations and Boeing sites as required.

Basic Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in Electrical System Design.
  • Experience in FAA compliance processes.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Extensive experience in related work or a combination of education and experience.
  • Active FAA DER appointment or Engineering Unit Member status.
  • Experience mentoring engineers in certification processes.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.

Work Environment
This position may require a hybrid work model, involving both onsite and remote work. The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
