Emergency Services Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Director to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of our emergency services department, ensuring the delivery of optimal and safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and outcomes
- Collaborate with medical directors and other healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with recognized standards and best practices
- Oversee the management of patient care, including direct patient care as necessary for evaluation of department services and patient outcomes
- Coordinate with resources to ensure optimal and efficient accounting operations for purchases, payment for services, and prior authorizations
- Supervise staff, including orientation, credentialing, competency completion, and continuing education
- Ensure accurate documentation of information related to patient care activities, regulatory requirements, data collection, and statistical reporting
- Prepare reports, proposals, and related documents for administrative and service needs
- Maintain current knowledge of industry safety and perform ongoing assessment of the environment for safety compliance
- Master's degree in a related field
- 5 years of directly related experience
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days
- RN licensure in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement within 60 days
This position is subject to an annual contract and performance appraisal. The work environment is medium, with occasional exertion of 20-50 pounds of force, and frequent exertion of 10-25 pounds of force to move objects. The employee will be exposed to moderate levels of chemicals, dangerous equipment, and materials.
