Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the Center for Justice Innovation. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing trauma-informed services to clients and participants, conducting comprehensive psychosocial evaluations, and facilitating group sessions. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues and court personnel to create and implement new programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive case management services to clients and participants, including clinically informed assessments and individual counseling sessions.
- Conduct outreach and engagement support to engage youth most impacted by sex exploitation and labor trafficking.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator for Queens HOPE-The Rockaways to create and facilitate a Queens-specific multidisciplinary task force.
- Engage families for wrap-around services and complete intakes of participants and administer assessment tools.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new programs, initiatives, and/or interventions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community partners who can provide appropriate interventions and services to court-involved individuals.
- Identify and communicate with service providers to facilitate, follow-up, and assist participants with voluntary service referrals.
- Attend trainings, ongoing professional development, and support related to human trafficking and labor trafficking.
- Attend staff meetings and on-going trainings as well as participate in community events held by the Queens Community Justice Center - The Rockaways.
- LMSW with a minimum of two years prior work in criminal justice and/or a related field required.
- Experience working within a harm reduction framework and commitment to staying up to date on harm reduction best practices required.
- Experience conducting clinical assessments and providing individual counseling sessions.
- Experience with drug/alcohol treatment, mental health services, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive practice required.
- Candidates must be willing and able to work collaboratively with colleagues and a variety of court personnel and partner agencies in a high-pressure/fast-paced work environment.
- Court-based social work is a unique and demanding area of practice, and candidates must be open to constructive engagement with differing and, at times, competing perspectives.
- Experience with/or comfortability in learning to facilitate conversations related to identity, oppression, and privilege is a must.
- Experience and/or comfort working with youth.
- Experience and commitment to creating, promoting, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and anti-racist work environment.
- SIFI certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
The Center for Justice Innovation offers a competitive salary range of $57,500 - $73,500, commensurate with experience. We also offer an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
