We are seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead our team at our Reno, Nevada facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production operations and providing support to inventory control, quality assurance, and purchasing.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Production Operations: Oversee all production operations, including inventory control, quality assurance, and purchasing.
- Lead a Team: Provide support and leadership to production associates, ensuring consistent performance and predictable results.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
- Review Performance Metrics: Review performance metrics and make improvements to optimize production efficiency.
- Collaborate with Support Departments: Work with support departments to improve all facets of the organization, including Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Purchasing, Accounting, Training, and Human Resources.
- Support Food Safety Initiatives: Provide support and active involvement in Food Safety improvement initiatives.
- Manage Department Budgets: Manage department budgets and hourly labor to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Ensure Quality and Safety: Ensure proper packaging and labeling of products, control product waste, and monitor production line flow to optimize product safety and yields.
- Audit and Plan: Audit associates' time sheets, ensure proper clock in and clock outs, and plan/schedule next day's production run with subordinates.
- Provide Guidance and Mentoring: Provide proper guides and mentoring to subordinates in food safety programs and GMP's practices.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in business, operations, or related field, and at least six years leadership experience in food manufacturing. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Industry Experience: Experience with SQF, AIB, GFSI, USDA environments is preferred.
- Scheduling and Flexibility: Must be able to work a first shift schedule and be flexible to meet the scheduling needs of the business as needed.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a chilled production environment.
- Time Management and Leadership: Must possess strong time management skills and ability to effectively coach and motivate a team.
- Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of SPC, Control Charts, and Lean Manufacturing.
