Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Sutter Health. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures to patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities.
Responsibilities- Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures
- Provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
- Exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders in a timely manner
- Gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and care, and effective communication
- Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
- Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Certification and licensure: RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner, NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider if required at the entity, RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist within 90 days, or CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist within 90 days, BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Department certification and licensure: ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Typical experience: 2 years of recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Capable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC
