Patient Care Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, gather patient history, and take vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and document all information in patient medical records.
  • Support delivery of excellent patient care through excellent customer service and communication with patients, families, and care providers.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers in preparing and conducting medical exams and office procedures.
  • Perform medical procedures, collect laboratory specimens, and administer injections/immunizations as allowed by state regulations.
  • Communicate information and instructions to patients as directed by physicians, advanced practice providers, or nursing staff.
  • Assist with scheduling tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments, and communicate test results to patients.
  • Maintain exam rooms, ensure adequate medical supplies, and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments, triage and process messages, and requests from patients, clinic staff, and pharmacies.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.
  • MA certification required; if not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 6 months to 1 year dependent on state requirements.
  • 1+ years' experience in an office-based setting preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to follow universal precautions and maintain OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations.
