About the Role

NESCO Inc is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new and sustaining products, tool design, manufacturing processes, and production equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Performs research, design, and development of new and sustaining products, tool design, manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
  • Manufacturing and Production: Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
  • Project Management: Designs, develops, tests, or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Problem-Solving: Responsible for providing creative and innovative engineering solutions that aid in the resolution of field and manufacturing problems and in the maintenance and improvement of existing products.
  • Team Collaboration: Responsible for implementing all phases of project plans and monitoring progress per established schedule and budget targets.
  • Customer Relationships: Maintains good relationships with customers, field personnel, and other Valmont departments to ensure the most efficient working environment.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provides technical support to other departments as required toward meeting the needs of our customers.
  • Process Improvement: Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency improvement.
  • Leadership: Represents engineering on cross-functional teams and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of Auto Cad and/or Solidworks, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Word.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and lead others.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to identify, communicate, and participate in process improvement opportunities (LEAN) aimed at reducing cost, improving efficiencies, and increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Experience: Experience with composites, GD&T, material specification, surface finishing requirements, and manufacturing techniques (milling, turning, welding, surface treatments).
  • Project Management: Previous work experience managing projects.
