Position Overview:
We are pleased to present an opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing the operations of the infant feeding unit and supervising the Diet Technicians involved in infant nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
This position entails a variety of essential functions, including:

  • Overseeing the daily activities within the infant feeding area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of infant feedings, including both formula and breast milk.
  • Acting as a liaison among the infant feeding room, pediatric dietitians, and nursing staff to facilitate effective communication and workflow.
  • Conducting audits to ensure adherence to sanitary regulations and institutional policies, particularly those related to enteral feeding.

Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Applicants should possess:

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited Dietetic Technician Program.
  • Registration as a Dietitian or as a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Experience:
Preferred candidates will have:

  • A minimum of six months of experience in a dietetic technician role, or relevant experience as a registered dietitian.

Additional qualifications may include:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
  • Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Registration as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Experience:
Two years of experience as a Registered Nutrition and Dietetics Technician is preferred.

Core Duties:
The following responsibilities are integral to this position:

  • Executing all duties as outlined in the Diet Technician and Registered Diet Technician job descriptions.
  • Assisting in the training and scheduling of staff involved in infant feeding preparation and related processes.
  • Engaging in performance improvement initiatives as required.
  • Collaborating with leadership to address workflow challenges effectively.
  • Providing guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Leading projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Offering constructive feedback on team performance and delegating tasks appropriately.

Physical Demands:
The role requires:

  • Regular lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier objects.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and standing throughout the workday.
  • Regularly pushing or pulling equipment weighing over 21 pounds.

Work Environment:
The majority of work will be conducted in a nutrition department setting, with a focus on infant feeding preparation. The role may involve exposure to stressful situations due to time constraints and the nature of the work.
