Job Summary
- Oversee a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to enhance patient intake and scheduling processes within the department.
- Cultivate strong communication channels with patients and visitors to improve overall satisfaction and quality of care.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED: Preferred
- Associate's or Technical Degree in business, healthcare, or computer science, or a comparable combination of education and experience: Preferred
- Welcome and assist patients and visitors, ensuring timely notification of relevant staff regarding their arrival.
Manage multiple phone lines and intercom systems, facilitating effective communication. Address complaints and requests with professionalism.
Process and verify physicians' orders, manage admission and discharge tasks, and create patient charts. Provide clerical support for departmental functions, meetings, and projects as necessary. - Compile and transmit essential information, charts, records, and documents. Retrieve previous patient records from the medical records department when required.
Maintain departmental documentation, reports, and statistics. Oversee office supplies and equipment inventory. Determine patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Collect co-payments and clarify service limitations. - Distribute necessary forms to billing and other departments. Assist in the upkeep of hospital documentation. Conduct confidential clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and phone management.
Support appointment scheduling and gather critical billing, insurance, and demographic information. - Educate patients about examination preparations and provide reminders for confirmed appointments. Collect required billing, insurance, and demographic data. Aid in the scheduling of appointments and reservations for various departmental needs.
Ensure waiting areas are tidy, organized, and welcoming. Engage with individuals in the waiting area. Monitor alarms and notify the appropriate department. Uphold quality standards by providing coverage or assistance as needed. Compile data for reports, manuals, and meetings. Assist in departmental meetings and activities. Contribute to research initiatives and provide administrative support for special projects. - Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.
