Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Rehabilitation Therapist, you will play a crucial role in the assessment, prevention, and treatment of physical impairments and pain. Your expertise will be vital in evaluating patients and applying therapeutic techniques, including physical and chemical modalities, exercise regimens, and patient education to enhance functional independence. You will be responsible for treating a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors, across various settings such as inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments, demonstrating precision and skill.
2. Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing specialized interventions and equipment.
3. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic processes and home exercises.
4. Engage in peer evaluations and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
5. Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
6. Initiate and coordinate discharge planning for patients.
7. Pursue ongoing professional development, including a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually and providing in-service training to colleagues.
8. Mentor and provide clinical training to students and junior staff.
9. Assist in the orientation and evaluation of support personnel.
10. Adhere to all compliance regulations related to the role.
11. Perform additional duties as required.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Additional Information:

Required: Experience with patients experiencing neurological disorders.
Minimum Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least one year of relevant experience.
Preferred: Certification in Functional Independence Measurement (FIM) within inpatient rehabilitation settings and CPR certification.

Work Environment:

Manual Skills: Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.
Occupational Hazards: Potential exposure to various occupational risks.
Physical Demands: Involves very heavy physical effort, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Environmental Factors: May encounter exposure to various environmental conditions.
