Electroencephalography Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electroencephalography (EEG) Technician to join our team at Lovelace Medical Center. As an EEG Technician, you will play a critical role in recording electrical impulses from the brain and providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize electroencephalograph equipment to record electrical impulses from the brain
  • Apply electrodes to predetermined positions on patients' scalps
  • Take and verify recordings
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and adjust specialized equipment
  • Monitor, transcribe physician orders, and perform other support duties
  • Obtain insurance pre-certification
  • Arrange for home and medical care and coordinate desk activities
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • One to three (1-3) years of previous EEG experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited electroeurodiagnostic technology program, with some college-level coursework
  • Eligible for or currently registered by ABRET
  • Registered EEG Tech
  • One (1) year experience in specialty
