Work Schedule:
This position typically involves working three days a week with 12-hour shifts, including rotating Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care and support under the supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare provider.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs.
- Organize and prioritize nursing activities to meet the needs of patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Implement age-appropriate interventions tailored to individual patient requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care and assist in achieving desired health outcomes.
- Provide ongoing education and reinforce care plans developed by the healthcare provider.
- Ensure a safe environment and the delivery of quality care.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the growth of colleagues.
- Exhibit teamwork and collaboration in all aspects of patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- Current licensure to practice as a Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move patients, and perform various physical tasks associated with patient care. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential.
