Line Cook

Kommissary is a social enterprise dedicated to spreading joy through food. We produce and deliver high volumes of meals to diverse demographics in New York City.

We are seeking a Line Cook who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills. This individual should possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate expertise in cooking techniques, including grilling, roasting, and pan frying.
• Execute knife skills with precision.
• Maintain food preparation and storage areas to meet health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver consistent food with attention to detail, even under pressure.
• Work with a sense of urgency and multitask effectively.
• Understand and adhere to NY Department of Health protocols for food safety.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
• Remain positive and composed under pressure.
• Be available to work overtime when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Work standing or walking for extended periods.
• Perform bending and squatting as needed.
• Move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The pay range is $17.00 to $19.00, depending on skill level, experience, and education. Compensation is subject to local wage and hour laws.
