About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our UniFirst team. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles
  • Verify all vehicles and drivers are properly licensed
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed when due
  • Verify that the appearance of fleet vehicles meet UniFirst standards
  • Sustain a clean, safe, and maintained garage
  • Purchase parts and monitor quotes for best pricing and quality
  • Provide back up for a shuttle run when needed
  • Ensure all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles is completed and up to date
  • Maintain fleet vehicles to ensure they are in safe working conditions, meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent is preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Associates degree from an accredited technical school and equivalent experience is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required
  • Must meet DOT requirements
  • Must be able to perform all vehicle repairs, have diagnostic knowledge with GM drivability, and some diesel experience is highly preferred
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed and perform occasional road calls
  • 3 – 5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including: Preventative Maintenance, tire & wheel, air & hydraulic brakes, drivetrain, computerized diagnostics, suspension, electrical and A/C
  • Proven computer skills and ability to use diagnostic software
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs
