We are seeking a skilled Municipal Estimator and Project Supervisor to oversee projects from their initial stages through to completion. This role entails managing the construction processes to ensure that all projects are executed safely, on time, and within budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating Duties:

  • Utilize bid documentation and estimating tools to conduct precise take-offs.
  • Develop comprehensive estimates and proposals that account for materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Submit bids that comply with the specifications outlined in the bid documents.

Project Management Duties:

  • Examine and interpret project plans, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Collaborate with General Superintendents to assess work scope, production rates, and supplier details.
  • Authorize vendor and subcontractor invoices specific to each job.
  • Prepare and manage pay applications and invoicing processes.
  • Oversee project progression throughout its lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Estimate and quote additional work while ensuring timely processing of change orders with clients.
  • Maintain organized project controls, including safety documentation, submittals, RFIs, logs, and other essential records.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates on project status, address any concerns, and ensure overall satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in estimating and managing MDOT/Municipal projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with estimating and scheduling software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Capable of analyzing complex issues, developing innovative solutions, and making informed decisions.
