About the Role:

MCK McKesson Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Cyber Resiliency and Disaster Recovery Engineering to lead a team in designing, implementing, and maturing the enterprise resiliency posture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing Cyber Resilience Solutions:

You will design and architect cyber resilience solutions that incorporate best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, and technology resiliency. This includes designing robust systems, networks, and applications that can withstand cyber threats and ensure business continuity.

2. Developing Application Design Guidelines:

You will establish application design guidelines that promote high availability, disaster recovery, and technology resiliency. This may involve implementing redundant systems, load balancing, fault tolerance, and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted service.

3. Implementing Disaster Recovery Strategies:

You will design and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure that critical systems and data can be quickly and effectively restored in the event of a major incident or disaster. This may involve designing backup and recovery processes, establishing recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs), and testing the effectiveness of the disaster recovery plan.

4. Enhancing Technology Resiliency:

You will identify and partner with technology teams to implement technologies and solutions that enhance the organization's technology resiliency. This may include implementing redundant network connections, leveraging cloud services for data backup and recovery, and implementing failover mechanisms for critical infrastructure components.

5. Collaborating with Application Development Teams:

You will work closely with application development teams to ensure that cyber resilience principles and best practices are integrated into the design and development of applications. This includes reviewing application architectures, conducting security reviews, and providing guidance on secure coding practices.

6. Conducting Architecture Assessments:

You will partner with our technology teams to assess the organization's existing architecture and infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. Based on these assessments, you will develop architectural recommendations to enhance cyber resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, and technology resiliency.

7. Implementing Security Controls and Technologies:

You will recommend and implement security controls and technologies that align with the organization's cyber resilience goals. This may include implementing intrusion detection and prevention systems, access controls, encryption, and other security technologies.

8. Providing Technical Leadership and Guidance:

You will serve as a technical leader and provide guidance to cross-functional teams on cyber resilience best practices, high availability, disaster recovery, and technology resiliency. This includes mentoring team members, conducting training sessions, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

9. Staying Updated on Emerging Technologies and Industry Trends:

You will stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to cyber resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, and technology resiliency. This will enable you to recommend and implement innovative solutions to mitigate evolving cyber threats.

10. Participating in Architectural Reviews and Governance Processes:

You will actively participate in architectural reviews and governance processes to ensure that cyber resilience principles and best practices are incorporated into the organization's technology roadmap. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that cyber resilience requirements are met during project planning and execution.

Experience and Qualifications:

1. IT Service Management Experience:

Proven record of success running IT Service Management in an ITIL operating model. ITIL foundation certification is required, and intermediate and advanced certifications are preferred.

2. Cloud Architecture and Microservices Experience:

Solid background in cloud architecture, microservices, and modern architecture for resiliency and disaster recovery across a broad technology estate.

3. Software Engineering Best Practices:

Knowledge of software engineering best practices.

4. Operational Strategy Development:

Experience developing and implementing operational strategies that drive measurable results.

5. Regulatory Requirements and Governance:

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and governance principles.

6. Leadership and Communication Skills:

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

7. Cross-Functional Team Leadership:

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

8. Executive Presence:

Strong executive presence and the ability to work with and influence senior leaders.

9. Strategic Thinking:

Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations.

10. Pressure Management:

Ability to work well under pressure, navigate tough situations professionally, and manage multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Healthcare Industry Experience:

Knowledge of and experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.

2. Documentation and Communication Skills:

Highly organized and detail-oriented with respect to documentation.

3. Critical Thinking and Diagnostic Aptitude:

Excellent critical thinking and diagnostic aptitude.

4. Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.

5. Distributed Team Management:

Experience in managing and working with distributed team members.

6. Customer Satisfaction and Quality:

Desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality, and reliability.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's Degree:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

2. Professional Experience:

Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

3. ITIL Certification:

Proven record of success running IT Service Management in an ITIL operating model.

4. Cloud Architecture and Microservices Experience:

Solid background in cloud architecture, microservices, and modern architecture for resiliency and disaster recovery.
