Job Title: EMT Basic

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled EMT Basic to join our team at Samaritan Care, Inc. in Wayne County. This is a full-time position with a sign-on bonus of $5,000 and a 12-hour shift schedule.

Job Summary:

The EMT Basic will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in a pre-hospital setting. This includes rendering competent patient care, operating and maintaining emergency vehicles and equipment, and communicating with other healthcare professionals.

Essential Functions:
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean appearance and demonstrate courteous, professional, and ethical behavior
  • Continually improve and upgrade skills and knowledge of the emergency medical profession
  • Render competent patient care in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings
  • Comply with all applicable protocols for emergency treatment and transportation
  • Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles and equipment
  • Communicate patient information to other healthcare professionals
  • Communicate information through the proper chain of command
  • Comply with local, state, and regional emergency medical service operations, regulations, and laws
  • Accurately and completely document information required by Samaritan Care, Inc. and the Department of Health
Physical Demands:
  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, push, pull, and carry
  • Frequently lift and/or move more than 150 pounds, including lifting, moving, and carrying patients up and down stairs
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of a EMT Basic program and acceptance for licensure in the state of employment
  • One year related experience preferred
  • Maintain current Valid Driver's License
  • Maintain, on file, current and valid EMT Basic Certification
  • Maintain, on file, current and valid CPR (Health Care Provider minimum) certification
