Key Responsibilities
  • Recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures as needed.
  • Function within payer regulations and guidelines.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize other members of the healthcare team in assessing patients and analyzing patient data.
  • Assess learning needs of patients and significant others, and provide accurate and complete information to patients and families.
  • Follow clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with procedures, exams, and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medications administered.
  • Accurately and legibly document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
  • Report results and pertinent information to patients and healthcare team members.
  • Function according to limitations or scope of license or certification.
  • Perform basic nursing functions under direction and supervision of a provider.
  • Maintain professional appearance of patient exam and procedure rooms.
  • Coordinate provider schedules in all areas.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for required procedures and medications to ensure payer approval.
  • Provide patient teaching as needed.
Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a varied schedule. You will work as a second nurse for primary care providers on Mondays and assist with the VFC program and medication prior authorizations on Fridays.
