Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pipe Layer to join our team at J.D. Goodrum Company. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently installing storm pipe, storm structures, sewer pipe, sewer manholes, water pipe, and water apparatuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Through knowledge of blueprints and ability to read and interpret them.
  • Grade Calculation and Shooting: Ability to calculate and shoot grade as needed.
  • Survey Skills: Basic survey skills and survey equipment.
  • Pipe Laser and Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of pipe lasers and equipment.
  • OSHA and Competent Person Training: Prefer the candidate have 10 hour OSHA and Competent Person Training.
  • Rigging Practices: Familiar with rigging practices, Certified Riggers Card is a plus.
  • Confined Space Training: Confined Space training, Confined Space Certification is a plus.
  • Pipe Materials and Classification: Competent understanding of all types of pipe materials and classification.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years experience as pipe layer. Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures.
  • Work Environment: Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds. Conduct work in a safe and appropriate manner. Overtime as required. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
