Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Altec Industries. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle and/or chipper components to required specifications for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use and conduct proper care of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders
  • Use basic hand tools, such as tape measures and specialty equipment
  • Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell)
  • Perform rework as required
  • Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in RCI events
  • Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories
  • Test installed components
  • Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices
  • Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment
  • Maintain daily time records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend required
  • Basic computer usage knowledge desired
  • Vocational Training in lieu of experience will be considered
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics desired
  • General knowledge of at least one of the following desired: Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical, Manufacturing/Production processes
