Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Altec Industries. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle and/or chipper components to required specifications for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Use and conduct proper care of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders
- Use basic hand tools, such as tape measures and specialty equipment
- Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell)
- Perform rework as required
- Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in RCI events
- Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories
- Test installed components
- Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices
- Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment
- Maintain daily time records
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend required
- Basic computer usage knowledge desired
- Vocational Training in lieu of experience will be considered
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics desired
- General knowledge of at least one of the following desired: Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical, Manufacturing/Production processes
