About the Position

The Parking Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of parking services at Cal State East Bay. This position is responsible for coordinating and providing operational support throughout the department, overseeing the issuance and billing of parking permits and other accounts receivables, managing parking citation appeals and collections, and providing customer service by resolving customer problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates Parking Program: Oversees day-to-day operations, including answering phones and emails related to parking, ensures office supplies are stocked, documents and implements functional area policies and procedures, and trains department staff.
  • Handles Billing and Reconciliations: Handles billing and reconciling of funds deposited into the Parking Fund, oversees the e-Permit program, including fulfillment, billing, and reconciling.
  • Coordinates Parking Permit Issuance: Oversees the ordering, distribution, and reconciliation of parking permits from both retail and online sales channels.
  • Coordinates Parking Citation Processing: Processes and records parking permit and citation payments in the T2 Flex parking management system, prepares deposits for delivery to the depository under Police escort.
  • Provides Customer Service: Handles customer service requests for parking permits and citations escalated from staff, faculty, students, and guests.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Coordinates Parking Staff: Coordinates the planning and provide comprehensive training for student staff positions, reviews training methods annually to effectively prepare staff, coordinates the recruitment and selection of student staff positions.
  • Coordinates Parking Events: Coordinates parking for University Departments and public events, ensuring compliance with policies and staffing needs.
  • Maintains Parking Records: Maintains inventory of parking permits, printed literature, citations, enforcement supplies, and other consumables.
Requirements
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, experience in an office environment, knowledge of software programs, including but not limited to Office, PageMaker, Photoshop, etc.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to multitask, knowledge of software applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience: A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, excellent public relations skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of University Infrastructure: Knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures, knowledge of web design and web page maintenance, knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
Special Conditions
  • Ability to Lift 50+ Pounds: Able to lift 50+ pounds, this position has been identified to have significant responsibility for student and campus activities, and will be required to function as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act.
