Job Description

At Kids Central, we are seeking a skilled Behavior Specialist to join our team in supporting children and families in need. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in determining the needs and services for children referred to our Tier Process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the Behavior Tool for children referred to the Tier Process to assess their eligibility.
  • Conduct thorough background checks and gather information from relevant parties, including family care managers, guardians, and school personnel.
  • Ensure timely completion of the Behavior Tool, submission for approval, and notification of caregivers and other required parties.
  • Schedule and facilitate Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to review results and recommendations.
  • Make referrals for children within required timeframes.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience.
  • Ability to clear a Level II background screen.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and insurable by our agency's current insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent working knowledge of community resources.
  • Establish and maintain linkages with businesses, organizations, and individuals within the community.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 100%.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work in a home-based setting, with occasional visits to schools, courts, and other agencies.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
