Job Summary:The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care services to our pediatric population under medical protocol. This role involves examining patients, making diagnoses, dispensing medication, and facilitating referrals as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct, pediatric patient care in an outpatient setting with opportunities to engage in population health management and quality/safety activities.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatments.
- Educate patients regarding health promotion and illness prevention.
- Recommend appropriate community resources to meet patient needs.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare and social services professionals.
- Consult with the medical director as needed and adhere to prescribed medical protocols.
- Answer emergency telephone calls after hours and weekends on a rotating schedule.
- Graduation from an NLN-approved MSN Nurse Practitioner program in Pediatrics.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or graduation from a certified Nurse Practitioner program with three years of NP experience.
- Georgia RN license required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred.
