Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Laboratory Care Technician to join our team in the Acute Care Laboratory at our Edina, MN location. This part-time position requires a 56-hour workweek, with every other weekend rotation, and a night shift schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens in inpatient, outpatient, and pre-surgical settings
  • Provide safe and secure specimen handling and point-of-care testing
  • Accurately enter orders and collection information into the Laboratory Information System
  • Monitor computer logs for incomplete work and schedule tests/procedures
  • Provide results in LIS/HIS and over the phone
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program or equivalent experience
  • Successful customer service background in a diverse cultural setting
  • Prior laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred
