Job Summary

The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgery team as an integral member. This role involves admitting patients, performing history and physicals, inpatient rounds, and medical management of intermediate and acute care level patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and discharging patients, as well as participating with surgeons in inpatient consults. This position requires a graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or a baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania. National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania is also required.

Responsibilities

Admit patients and perform history and physicals
Participate in inpatient rounds and medical management of patients
Plan and discharge patients
Participate with surgeons in inpatient consults
Assist physicians in the medical care and management of patients

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or a baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania
National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Relevant experience in cardiac surgery or a related field
