Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Mettler Toledo. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing installations, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on lab measurement and weighing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Calibration: Perform installations and calibrations of lab measurement and weighing equipment according to Mettler Toledo procedures and customer requirements.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance duties to ensure equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Customer Communication: Engage in timely and effective communications with customers, leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any technical or customer issues.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized approach to daily work, including inventory management, tools, equipment, parts, timekeeping, and paperwork.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Leverage skills and training to address unexpected circumstances or issues that may arise during installations, calibrations, or preventative maintenance.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity of the service database and maintain compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Travel and Overtime: Travel overnight, up to 10% on average, and be willing to work overtime as needed to meet business requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of relevant experience and an aptitude in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, technology, or computer science.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience, with a valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a valid Weights & Measure license for assigned service area.
  • Skills: Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration, and the ability to learn proprietary software and review/update information using Mettler Toledo programs.
  • Personal Qualities: Willingness to work in varied work environments, including quality control/assurance, manufacturing, petrochemical, or clean rooms, and to wear special protective equipment and clothing as required.
