Job Summary:

The Cross Connection Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our cross-connection control programs, including grease trap inspection documentation and responding to inquiries from the public and businesses. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately log backflow and grease waste manifests into our database or software.
  • Respond to inquiries, explain and interpret state and local requirements and restrictions, and maintain accurate files and records.
  • Investigate complaints from the general public and other departments, regarding cross connection, backflow installations grease trap inspections, and other programs as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Additional education or training in customer service, inspections, or a related field.
  • One year of experience inspecting/documenting backflow prevention installations.
  • A valid State driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
Working Conditions:

The employee works in outdoor conditions while traveling from site to site and conducting inspections. Certain positions within the classification may require availability to work a flexible schedule.

Part-time/temporary employees and unpaid interns are ineligible to receive City benefits.
