Our instructors are enthusiastic professionals who are passionate about their subject matter. They are responsible for delivering a comprehensive, high-quality curriculum that is designed to engage and inspire student achievement. Furthermore, our educators are encouraged to participate in both internal and external professional development initiatives, which empower them with the latest advancements in social-emotional learning, culturally responsive teaching, and pedagogical strategies. This commitment to continuous learning enables our instructors to thrive and enhance their teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct all subject areas within a self-contained classroom, supported by a co-teaching framework.
- Foster a positive classroom environment grounded in respect, care, and high expectations, often utilizing a co-teaching approach.
- Collaborate with grade-level and subject teams, as well as educational leaders, to develop and implement high-quality instructional resources.
- Create a safe, equitable, and inclusive educational setting while employing research-based curricula and social-emotional strategies to support the holistic development of each child.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to identify student needs and devise action plans for success in partnership with grade-level and administrative teams.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in significant school-wide events and initiatives.
- Engage in a comprehensive training program during the summer and ongoing professional development throughout the academic year.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Demonstrate a strong belief in the mission, values, and educational philosophy of The Community Group.
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A valid teaching license in Elementary Education for grades 1-6 is preferred.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is advantageous.
- Exhibit skills in collaborative planning and problem-solving.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Show flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with developmentally appropriate teaching strategies.
