Position OverviewThe Pediatric ICU Clinical Nurse is a licensed professional who delivers safe and effective care based on established nursing theories and practices to a specific group of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care by applying the principles of Relationship Centered Care and utilizing the nursing process.
- Assessment: Evaluate patient care needs and employ critical thinking in managing patient care.
- Collaboration: Work alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and assess care plans.
- Education: Instruct patients and families about their care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communication: Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Model the principles of Relationship Centered Care by facilitating patient engagement and satisfaction.
- Consider patients' cultural backgrounds and preferences in all care aspects.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
- Deliver patient-centered care while identifying areas for improvement.
- Demonstrate essential clinical skills and knowledge pertinent to the patient population.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and nursing research.
- Must possess relevant clinical experience in pediatric critical care nursing.
- Registered Nurse license required.
- Certification in BLS and PALS is mandatory.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a PICU setting is essential.
