Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, ensuring a hygienic environment for all employees.
  • Sweep and damp mop all floors daily, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to spills and clean up any messes throughout your shift.
  • Empty all trash inside and outside the store, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Rotate and clean the dairy shelves, ensuring our products are displayed in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Clean the glass dairy and frozen food doors, maintaining a sparkling appearance.
  • Sweep the parking lot using designated equipment, ensuring a safe and accessible area for customers.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and fixtures as needed, ensuring our facilities are well-maintained.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as necessary, maintaining a safe and accessible environment for customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, upholding our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with the management team and associates to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Meet minimum age requirements.
  • Flexible schedule needed to meet the demands of the role.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk 100% of the time, with frequent reaching and lifting of cleaning materials.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials and substances.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time, with occasional pushing/pulling of heavy equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
