Key Responsibilities- Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks on components, structures, and hardware, ensuring all welds meet or exceed quality and safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in good working order, and perform routine inspections to identify any defects.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the fabrication team to plan and execute complex welding projects, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless project execution.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections of welds to identify any defects and make necessary adjustments, and adhere to all quality protocols and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes and techniques, and contribute to the development of new welding procedures and protocols.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding preferred; minimum of 5 years of experience in welding, with proficiency in various welding techniques.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Certification in welding from a recognized institution is highly desirable; ability to pass required qualifications test.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of metallurgy and the properties of different metals; ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings; good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, move, transport, and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times; ability to work in a factory environment with occasional work outside normal business hours.
- Factory Environment: Work in a factory environment with high noise levels from operating machines; exposure to physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
- Visual and Hearing Requirements: Ability to pass annual eye exam; visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected; normal hearing or corrected to normal.
