Job Purpose

As a Technical Product Specialist for Environmental Products at DURAG, Inc, you will provide pre and post technical sales support to customers and regional sales teams. You will utilize your combined technical knowledge and sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of emission monitoring systems to ensure successful purchase, delivery, and service of all products.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing pre-sales support to sales teams, including determining solutions to proposed customer applications, visiting customer sites with sales as requested, and creating sales tools to help simplify the selection and qualification process.
  • Working with sales to provide cost-price calculations and execute quotes or proposals for Emission Monitoring Systems, providing reports to management as required.
  • Reviewing customer technical and commercial specifications and developing quotations/proposals based on customer requirements.
  • Working closely with customers and representatives and acting as the technical resource for those entities and the company.
  • Responsible for reviewing customer purchase orders against proposal and timely generating sales order acknowledgements and required documentation for order processing and quality control.
  • Writing supplemental technical documentation for specific customer issues or product solutions, as required.
  • Project team member for large projects or as assigned.
  • Managing quality issues and customer complaints to a proper and timely conclusion, providing weekly reports to management.
  • Escalating issue management to supervisor and responsible sales team member.
  • Complying with company policies and work instructions related to documenting customer communications and activities in CRM system.
  • Supporting tradeshow efforts, including preparation of and participation in events and technical presentations.
  • Building and delivering training as needed for customers, end users, and internal employees.
  • Contribute to the review and data on technical datasheets and product literature.
  • Attending and being proactive part of assigned industry technical committees, tracking industry trends and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

You will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Natural Sciences combined with a minimum of 4 years of experience in technical consulting, sales, customer service, product development, or business development; or a 2-year technical degree combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical service role.

  • Emission Monitoring or Air Pollution Control Systems experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPA air emissions test methodology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently, in a global environment in constant change.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to track and respond to multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers quickly.
  • Foreign language skills are helpful; Spanish is preferred.
  • Current professional certifications, as needed.

Work and Physical Conditions

This position may require you to lift, handle, and move product or equipment; and climb stairs and ladders to high and possibly remote locations where product may be installed, and temperature and weather may be harsh.

Domestic and international travel is required, sometimes up to 25% of the work week, not always conforming to the traditional U.S. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm work day.
