Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Emergency Unit Clerk to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, while ensuring the efficient operational flow of our unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person greetings, welcome, and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
  • Maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Provide concierge service to assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
  • Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service-related role.
  • Prior job experience with typing or computer training or equivalent coursework.
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. You must be able to work with minimal supervision and have critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent data entry, standing, and walking for extensive periods of time. You must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required and follow standard precautions.
