Cleveland Clinic's Mercy Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. As a PRN RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients and work varying shifts to meet the needs of our dynamic department.
Responsibilities- Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure high-quality care.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs to ensure a smooth transition to home or further care.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
- Internal applicants with less than two years' experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.
- Will consider military RN experience.
- Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain within one year of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain within one year of employment.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) or willing to complete within 24 months of employment.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
