Job Summary

The Adolescent Counselor is a vital member of our treatment team, responsible for providing care and support to adolescents aged 12-17 who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. As a Counselor, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote the physical and psychological well-being of our members.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect services to members, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care plans
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each member
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews to ensure the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments
  • Provide education and support to members and their families on mental health issues and recovery strategies
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans
  • Document all interactions with members, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other relevant information
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling) and two years of experience working with psychiatric patients, preferably adolescents
  • Associate's degree and three years of experience, or six years of experience working directly with individuals in a mental health setting
  • Knowledge of basic psychiatric rehabilitation interventions and a commitment to the principles of rehabilitation and recovery
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with psychiatric adolescent clients
  • Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
