We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Community Action Program for Central Arkansas. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing a high-quality educational program for 3-5 year old children, promoting their intellectual and physical development, and ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) and promote the five central domains of learning.
- Plan and conduct educational activities that advance the intellectual and physical development of all children in their care.
- Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other meetings as required.
- Accurately record and maintain children's growth and development data, using data collection tools provided.
- Use collected data to individualize instruction and make informed decisions about children's learning.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education, attending training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Participate in ongoing training and coaching to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education and Experience
- Minimum of Associate degree in Early Childhood Education required.
- One year of experience teaching children ages 3-5 years.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift children, sit and stand for long periods of time, and participate in activities requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and jumping.
- Good physical condition, with ability to pass tuberculosis screening annually and initial health examination within first three months of employment.
- Valid driver's license, access to transportation with liability insurance, and willingness to use vehicle for Agency-related travel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong commitment to the Head Start program and its mission.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
