We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Presbyterian Home for CNY. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including basic electrical and plumbing work.
- Operate fire alarm systems, extinguishers, and other building safety systems as needed.
- Remove snow from walks, fire exits, steps, driveways, and parking areas.
- Run errands within and outside the facility, and transport residents to and from outside activities when necessary.
- Assist with trash and garbage collection, incineration, and removal from the buildings.
- Conduct periodic maintenance as needed, and maintain grounds including lawns, shrubs, and trees.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance on scheduled equipment.
- Work other shifts as directed, and attend all safety-related in-service classes as required by OSHA standards.
- High school graduate with courses in shop, or GED, mathematics, mechanics, electricity, and general science.
- Some experience in maintenance or building trades.
- Valid driver's license.
- Familiar with the safe and proper use of related equipment.
- Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personal.
- Communicates with other departments.
- May be asked to work beyond normal working hours.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be in good health, be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
