Wind Turbine Technician

Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the individual is responsible for executing daily intricate assembly, maintenance, repair, and operational tasks related to wind turbine generators and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors.
• Identify and address system or process issues, engaging the team in solutions.
• Participate in cross-training initiatives with colleagues.
• Carry out daily tasks as directed by supervisors, coordinating with team members as necessary.
• Diagnose, repair, and retrofit complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Adhere to specific verbal and written instructions for WTG assembly, repair, and maintenance, fulfilling all technician duties.
• Complete and maintain necessary documentation and records as required by the company.
• Ensure tools and work areas are clean and organized, including managing spills and debris.
• Travel to various job sites for extended durations as needed.
• Meet customer and company standards in all work performed.
• Comply with corporate, OSHA, and GETSG policies and procedures consistently.
• Document service reports and work orders clearly and accurately.
• Maintain required training certifications relevant to the position.
• Assess skills necessary for specific tasks effectively.
• Execute work within project timelines.

• Proficient in legible writing and passing periodic knowledge assessments.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 300 feet.
• Physical capability to lift and manipulate weights up to 100 pounds.
• At least 36 months of specialized technical and mechanical experience in wind turbine operations.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license and a motor vehicle report that meets company standards are preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain a drug-free status is mandatory.
• A minimum of 24 months of mechanical and electrical experience is required.
