Job Title: Infusion Nurse RN

The Infusion Nurse RN is a critical role within our healthcare team, responsible for administering infusion therapies to patients in accordance with department guidelines and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate patients presenting to the Infusion Suite for IV therapy, ensuring accurate and timely administration of medications.
  • Educate patients on their diagnosis and ordered IV therapy, promoting informed decision-making and patient engagement.
  • Stay up-to-date on standard protocols for specific medications and policies/procedures related to IV therapy administration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in procedurally oriented skills, including hand/eye coordination and motor dexterity.
  • Utilize excellent clinical assessment and history-taking skills to determine appropriate venipuncture sites and administer IV infusions according to current clinic policy and procedure.
  • Accurately document all nursing care and interventions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and/or written forms.
  • Report any adverse reactions to the Neurologist, PA, or NP and follow through on ordered interventions.
  • Manage the Infusion Suite schedule in conjunction with the Medical Secretary.
  • Stock and replenish items as needed in the Infusion Suite.
  • Assist with preparations for the next day's business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse and/or Infusion Suite Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Maintain current BCLS and ACLS certification.
  • Function independently, possessing excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
